As you may have guessed, my name is Jeremy Liu. I am a full-time software engineer in the United States and a part-time composer/arranger.

As a hobbyist, it can be costly to have my compositions performed by professional musicians. At the moment, I am relying on MIDI rendition to approximate the real performance. These audio samples may give you a glimpse of my music.

I'm currently taking a break from writing my own music, in the hope of finding motivation and a new direction.

About My Music

I enjoy and value traditions from the 18th century in Western classical music; at the same time, I'm intrigued by the ideas from the late 19th and the 20th century. Melodically, I have a strong tendency to follow the traditional voice-leading rules, but harmonically, I prefer a more contemporary sound. The styles of my music so far have not been too far away from those of the 19th century, but I will certainly explore more alternatives in the future.
